Brighton v Derby Championship kick off 7:45
Brighton can go level with Newcastle and 9 points clear of Huddersfield with a win over Derby tonight. Having lost at home to Newcastle and a 3-0 defeat away at Nottingham Forest the recent win at Rotherham went some way to restoring some much needed confidence.
Derby have lost their last three games away 1-0 and have only scored in one of their last 6 away games. With only 1 win in the last 8 matches a play off chance has all but disappeared over the horizon in yet another frustrating campaign for the Rams.
Brighton have injury worries in defence with Shane Duffy out for up to six weeks having had surgery on injured ankle but could have on-loan Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom back after )returning to training.
Derby have their own injury worries to contend with Captain Richard Keogh (calf) and midfielder Bradley Johnsone set to have late fitness tests. Defender Jason Shackell (back) was absent for the 1-1 draw with Preston but could return tonight.
Betfair ExchangeTrading Angle
Both teams keep it extremely tight with Brighton having the meanest home defence in the Championship. Derby are difficult to score against away from home with the second meanest away defence in the league however they are vulnerable from set pieces with no side conceding more goals from corners than Derby (10). The Under 2.5 Goals is attractive at 1.88 however an early goal for Brighton would make a recovery through the correct score market difficult as Brighton are fairly short in the any other home win column (12.5). I expect Brighton will win narrowly so I would back the home win at 1.88 and take up the 0-0 (12.5) and the 1-1 at odds of 8 for insurance to cover my match odds stake +30%
